Kevin J. McCarty is a native, fifth generation Oregonian, and a graduate of Willamette University in Salem. Kevin has a small, sole law practice, offering clients personalized attention in the areas of family law, landlord tenant law, as well as general civil litigation. Kevin has been practicing law in Bend since 1991.
Kevin and his wife Julie, also a native Oregonian, live in Bend with their labradoodle, Sadie, who accompanies Kevin to his office every day. Kevin has a daughter, Christine, who lives in Bend with her husband, and a step-daughter, Piper, is studying medicine at OHSU in Portland.
When not practicing law, Kevin enjoys scuba diving, golf and cross-country skiing, as well as playing drums, guitar, bass, and singing with local bands.
Kevin is proud to be licensed to practice in both Oregon state and federal court, and has many years of experience negotiating structured settlements as well as litigating those cases that need to go to trial. Kevin has a solid relationship with his colleagues in the Central Oregon Bar and with the local judges
In addition to his many years of practice in the Oregon courts, Kevin co-published the landlord and tenant guide used by Oregon attorneys, and has served on the local committee responsible for the creation of what is now known as the Deschutes County Basic Parenting Plan.
Kevin is passionate about his work, and takes his multiple roles as counselor, confidante, and zealous advocate very seriously. He has a wide range of legal skills and experience, but generally prefers to limit his practice to the areas of family law and landlord tenant law. Kevin has the compassion and understanding that are required to provide his clients with exceptional service during the emotional turmoil that can often accompany legal proceedings.
